Your child may tell you how we use iPads in speech therapy. In no way is a iPad necessary for therapy or for practicing speech strategies at home, however it is a fun way to reinforce skills. I encourage you to sit with your child as they use the iPad so that their speech and language skills are further enhanced. Therefore, I have provided some links to iPad applications that we use in therapy in case you are interested. This list will be growing all the time, so check back for updates!!
Articulation iPad Apps
This iPad app allows students to have a visual representation of how they are to move their tongue to produce sounds. It is well organized and provides a lot of valuable information.
Little Bee Speech
Little Bee Speech has an app called Articulation Station that allows you to purchase the sounds that are impaired and require extra practice. The exciting thing about this app is that it can record the children's voice and has sounds in words, sentences, and paragraphs.
Many of my students have shared that they have downloaded this app on their family's personal iPad. It is free and also provides pictures organized by sounds. You can create individual profiles for each user and record the student's production of sounds.
